Get excellent traction in extreme conditions with these long-lasting zinc-coated alloy tire chains. Square links and ladder pattern provide traction for your vehicle in snow, on ice, and off-road. Cams allow quick and easy tensioning.

Features:

  • Provides excellent traction in mud, snow, and ice
    • Square links dig in and provide good grip
    • Ladder pattern offers good traction as you drive forward
  • Installs with effortless tensioning - just twist cams to pull the chain taut around the tire
    • Rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) are recommended for a tight fit
  • Resists corrosion thanks to manganese nickel alloy construction and zinc finish
  • Works on either front- or rear-wheel-drive vehicles

Specs:

  • Fits: 15" - 19" tires (for exact sizes, see below)
  • Link thickness: 5.5 mm (0.218")
  • Quantity: 2 tire chains
  • 30-Day limited warranty

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.

These Titan Chain ladder-pattern snow chains are great winter weather chains for your vehicle. The cross chains have a zinc finish, further adding to the durability and longevity of these chains. The square links - which dig into snow and ice better than traditional twist links - are made of a corrosion-resistant alloy steel, so they last 2-3 times longer than standard low-carbon chains. But if you're more likely to see seriously icy conditions where you live, you may instead want a chain with square or V-bar links that can really bite into the ice for more traction.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Installing Snow Chains

Installing these chains is simple.

Lay chains on the ground to get all the tangles out

1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.

Drape chains over tire.

2. Drape the chains over your tires, making sure that the prongs attaching the cross chains to the side chains face away from your sidewalls.

Connect the chain behind the tire

3. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the side chain on the front of the tire, then clamp the lever to fasten extra chain links and keep them from flapping as you drive.

Attach optional tensioners

4. Insert the included tool into the cam and twist to tighten the sidewall chain. Twist as many cams as it takes to get a tight fit.

Attach optional tensioners

5. Drive forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the chain tension. Tighten any loose cams. If needed, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used to get a tight fit. Make sure the hooks on the adjusters face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.

Quick Tips:

  • Lengthen the life of snow chains by drying them after each use before you store them.
  • Check out our installation kit with safety lights and a kneeling pad (PO34FRK) to make things a little easier when you're installing chains out in the snow.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

Video Transcript for Checking Out the Titan Chain Alloy Tire Chains w Cams

Hey everybody, Adam here with etrailer. Today we're gonna to be taking a look at the Titan Chains, snow tire chains. What we have right here is a ladder pattern style chain. What does that mean Well we just have these cross chains going across. So these are gonna be a little bit more rough than some of the other ones that make a diamond pattern. Just because with these we're gonna from chain to tire to chain to tire as we rotate around.

It's going to be a little bit rougher of a ride compared to some of the other ones. Definitely gonna give you more traction than some of the cable tire chains, just because those ones give you a whole lot traction but they are smoother. So its all up to you. I don't really mind the ride because I just don't wanna get stuck. So these are gonna be a bit more aggressive than your twist chains cause they're square links.

But they are gonna be less aggressive than some of the V bar style chains. So these are gonna have a manganese nickel alloy steel and these are gonna be coated so they're nice and strong. You can kind of see the cool little colors with it. So this is gonna last you plenty of time , comparing these to some of the other ladder pattern style chains, some of them don't have cam tensioners. I am a very big cam guy, really like them just because you can get the chain nice and tight on there even without the rubber tensioner.

But we are gonna have to use those which aren't included with the kit. We do have a fair amount of space between the chain and our wheels. There are some little areas where it might kind of over hang, but I don't really think it's gonna do a whole lot. Just be mindful of that whenever your setting it up. I don't really think it's gonna do much to our wheels if anything at all.

It does come in a pack of two, so it comes with little tiny canvas bag which it does fit in there. They fit in there well you don't really have to work real hard to get them back in. The cable tire chains are really difficult to get back in so this is definitely easier than that. But I am just not a big fan of the canvas bag, they do tend to rip, so the chains are going to out last the bag. If you wanted to get some that are a little bit easier to install and come with a carrying case, that's plastic. There are some Konig self tensioning snow tire chains or the premium snow tire chains. Those are the best just because we don't have to get down on the ground to make our connection, all the stuff is up here. But these are gonna get the job done, give us the extreme traction and you do just wanna make sure to check with your owners manual to figure out exactly which tires, which wheels you want to put them on. So, if they say the back, put them on the back, if they say you could put them on all four wheels, just go ahead and grab two of these and that's all you really need to do. And that'll do it, for a look at the Titan chains, snow tire chains..

  • Tire Chains for Off Road Use on a Sprinter with 215/85-16 Tires and Dual Tires in the Back
Pewag tire chains are made of higher quality steel and other metals than the less costly chains. They will hold up better which will limit the number of replacement chains you would have to purchase. In the long term it would save you money to go with higher quality chains if you use chains frequently. Pewag has also existed in metal works for over 700 years! For only occasional use a less expensive and lower quality chain will work just fine. We have numerous chains for the 215/85-16...

  • What Metal are the Titan Alloy Chains Made of
The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2219SCAM that you referenced are made of manganese nickel alloy which is incredibly strong. As long as you install these chains correctly, use them properly, and don't exceed their speed rating of 30 miles per hour you would not have to worry about them coming apart on you. We sell a lot of chains and haven't had any issues with these chains so I would recommend them for you. I attached a review video for you to check out as well. Lastly, you...
